THE EXPERTISE BEHIND COCOON
Experienced clinicians. Personally involved.
At Cocoon, you're not simply hiring a hyperbaric chamber. You're working directly with two IBUM-qualified Functional Medicine Hyperbaric Clinicians who bring professional expertise, personal experience and individual attention to your HBOT journey.
Dr Gary Dennis
Founder, Cocoon HBOT
DC (USA) • MMC (AUS) • Dip HBOT (USA) • NZCA
IBUM-qualified Functional Medicine Hyperbaric Clinician
Gary founded Cocoon following his own experience with a serious brain injury in 2019. Having experienced the demands of regular clinic-based HBOT himself, he recognised the need for a more accessible way to undertake consistent treatment at home.
His background in functional medicine and hyperbaric therapy shapes Cocoon's individual approach. Gary brings his expertise to assessing whether HBOT may be suitable, establishing personalised protocols and recommending programme durations based on each person's circumstances and goals.

You'll have an experienced clinician to speak with, not a call centre or an equipment supplier.
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions people often ask
How long is the programme?
There isn't one standard programme length for everyone. Gary recommends a timeframe based on your individual circumstances and explains the reasoning behind it.
Before you begin, Lorene takes you through the full recommended programme, including its stages and anticipated costs. You'll understand the complete recommendation from the outset.
Why daily sessions?
Consistency is central to a structured HBOT programme. Rather than relying on occasional, one-off sessions, HBOT protocols typically recommend regular sessions over a sustained period to support the intended therapeutic response. That's one of the biggest advantages of having a hyperbaric chamber at home. You can follow your recommended daily routine without travelling to a clinic, arranging appointments or paying for each individual session. At Cocoon, Gary recommends a session frequency and programme duration based on your individual needs. Having your chamber at home makes it practical to follow that recommendation consistently, giving your programme the best opportunity to achieve its intended goals.
Is at-home HBOT suitable and safe for me?
Your safety and suitability are central to how Cocoon operates. Before recommending a programme, Gary takes time to understand your health history, circumstances and goals. This helps him determine whether at-home HBOT may be appropriate for you and whether any further assessment is needed. Your chamber is professionally installed in your home, and you'll receive practical training on how to use it confidently. You'll also have ongoing access to Lorene for questions and guidance throughout your programme. We believe that at-home HBOT should come with professional oversight and personal support, not simply the delivery of a chamber.
What should I expect from the programme?
At Cocoon, your programme is designed around your individual circumstances and goals, rather than a standard package offered to everyone. Gary recommends a protocol, session frequency and programme duration based on your needs. Lorene explains what the programme involves, what you can reasonably expect and how you'll be supported along the way. With your chamber at home, you have the opportunity to follow a consistent routine as recommended, without the disruption of repeated clinic visits. People's experiences and responses to HBOT vary, so specific outcomes can't be promised. What you can expect from Cocoon is a clear recommendation from the outset, professional guidance and personal support throughout your programme.
Can I claim it through insurance or ACC?
Funding or reimbursement depends on your insurer, policy, eligibility and individual circumstances. HBOT rental is not automatically covered by insurance or ACC.
We recommend checking directly with your insurer or ACC before making any financial commitments.
What happens after I enquire?
Lorene will contact you to learn more about your circumstances, answer your initial questions and explain the next steps.
If HBOT appears potentially suitable, she'll guide you through the health information and assessment process. Gary then makes the individual programme recommendations, which Lorene discusses with you alongside the anticipated costs.
You can ask questions and consider your options before deciding. There's no obligation to proceed.

YOUR NEXT STEP
Let's talk about whether HBOT is right for you.
Tell Lorene a little about your situation and
what you're hoping to achieve. She'll take
the time to answer your questions, explain
how Cocoon works and help you understand
whether it's worth exploring further.
No pressure. No obligation. Just a personal
conversation with someone who understands HBOT.
